Melbourne Students Take on Global Consulting Project at Meinhardt

In partnership with the University of Melbourne, Meinhardt Thailand undertook a Global Consulting Project to host students during a recent two-week immersion program. The program aimed to prepare students for the business world and develop closer ties with multinational firms in the region. Students were challenged to formulate an implementation strategy for Building Information Modelling at Meinhardt.

Meinhardt Launches New Urban Design & Landscape Architecture Arm Meinhardt has enhanced its scope of services with the appointment of Dean Thornton as Manager: Urban and Landscape Design.

Dean joins with 20 years experience, the majority gained at award-winning design practice Hassell, where he was a Principal in their Melbourne studio.

His specialist expertise ranges from the master planning of residential and mixed-use developments to the planning and design of transport infrastructure projects. Recent experience includes preparation of master plans for the infill of urban sites earmarked for regeneration ranging from 3 to 32 hectares, as well as new community developments within growth areas around Melbourne, Victoria and New South Wales.

Jon Brock, National Director of Planning & Urban Development at Meinhardt said: “This is a natural evolution for the business. The way that urban development is heading, urban design and landscape architecture are critical aspects of the planning regime. With Dean's extensive expertise and experience we can now provide clients with a full turnkey solution from planning to design to implementation.”
