Light Art at Meinhardt was appointed to create a dynamic lighting system for the new offices of Fairfax Digital in Sydney. Creating a great first impression is important to any business and with Fairfax Digital this was achieved using an LED (light emitting diode) system. Working with Idiom Design Practice it was agreed that a crisp white interior would allow the space to be painted with colour through the use of light, the choice of which can be changed according to the occasion.
Within the offices themselves the theme continues with interactive lighting to common breakout areas. This has given the power back to the individual to control his or her working environment, improving job satisfaction.
The breakout area is important for networking, so the design brief was to create a warm and inviting relaxation zone. This was achieved with decorative light fittings and an interactive LED art wall allowing the users to select patterns or words to be displayed according to the mood.
