Geotechnical Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform Geotechnical analysis and study to assess construction site condition
  • Plan and conduct Geotechnical exploration effectively
  • Perform field and environmental investigations for construction projects
  • Analyse Geotechnical findings, perform appropriate calculations and prepare data reports to Manager
  • Develop proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations
  • Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities
  • Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned project on-time
  • Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives
  • Perform basic office administration tasks when needed
  • Assist Manager in design and evaluation of constructions
  • Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects
  • Review and approve Geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants
  • Review construction design proposals and approve Geotechnical aspects

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualification in Civil Engineering specialised in Geotechnical Engineering – MQF Level 7 or equivalent
  • Excellent proficiency in communication in English, including both verbal and written English
  • 10 years in a major civil engineering / infrastructural works related to design and supervision of major civil engineering and/or infrastructural and/or tunnelling projects
  • Leading role in the last 5 years as Geotechnical Engineer in at least 1 major tunnelling project worth over €15 Million

 General:

  • Act in accordance with industry/professional ethics maintaining professionalism at all time
  • Contribution and effort is aligned to organisational objectives
  • Comply with all company HSSE systems and procedures relevant to the role, in accordance with local documented HSSE responsibilities. No work related injuries, illnesses or adverse environmental outcomes due to incorrect or inadequate application of systems or procedures
  • Participate in performance development discussions with manager initiating and managing own personal development with all CPD requirements met
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively willingly accepting share of workload and helping others when required
