HSSE Coordinator

Key Tasks:
The key tasks for this role shall be, but not limited to the following:


  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all HSSE requirements through monitoring and audit of the contractors
  • Supervise team of HSSE officers and engineers
  • Provide training and induction/awareness courses on HSSE and related areas
  • Interface with other trades and contractors as required, to ensure a good relationship & communications on HSSE matters
  • Review HSSE related documentation
  • Lead HSSE initiatives and communication/coordination groups to share HSSE learning and ensure consistent standards and application
  • Resolve minor HSSE issues at site level, recording issues for future learning/trends, and raise major issues for greater awareness and resolution at higher levels if required
  • HSSE reporting and participation/leading investigations of accidents/incidents
  • Assist in co-ordinating with Management, Owners, Contractors and local government authorities on all HSSE matters
  • Undertake and lead incident investigations and to ensure investigation is closed in time
  • Updating on the current HSSE trend and best practices and implement on site
  • Performing as Environment Control Officer (ECO) Noise control officer as required by the Authority
  • Updating and ensuring that all safety procedures are up to date and conforms to Singapore and International Standards
  • Assist in the implementation, review and improving the Safety Management System
  • Conducting and Managing Internal Audits (Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and closeout as per the schedule)
  • Any other duties assigned by the HSSE Manager

Key Skills, Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor in EHS/ Engrg + 5 or more years of relevant experience; or Diploma in EHS/Engrg + 7 or more years of relevant experience
  • Environmental Control Officer certification/Noise Control Officer
  • Possess strong leadership & interpersonal skill and able to work under pressure
  • Good knowledge of HSSE legislations
  • Knowledge of OHSAS, ISO 14001 & SMS Audit system implementation
  • Knowledge on auditing skill
  • Knowledge on report writing & incident investigation & analytical skills
  • Knowledge on management skill
  • Computer literate & good presentation skill
  • Knowledge on fire-fighting engineering
  • Knowledge on marine engineering science
  • Knowledge on chemical engineering science
  • Use standard JD with additional requirement as follows
  • Able to write and converse in English and Mandarin
  • Based in Changsha, China
  • Familiar with the local Chinese statutory health, environment and safety requirements
