Senior Engineer


  • Review of wind tunnel test and/or design codes to determine most suitable design wind load to achieve the most economical design solution
  • Design sections sizes in accordance with the results of the above
  • Coordinate with C&S Engineer from project team to understand structural requirements of the building such as inter-storey live load deflection; long-term creep and column shortening
  • Ensuring that the PMU test procedures and the Meinhardt specification reflect the project design criteria
  • Preparing design engineering calculation to evaluate schematic design/concept design drawings in conjunction with Senior Designer and Design Manager
  • Ensuring that new project engineering solutions are ‘fit for purpose’ and in accordance with the local and international engineering codes and practices. Use archived project templates and that details requiring ‘designs from scratch’ are minimised
  • Working closely with Design team to ensure that correct section sizes and fixing details have been designed for the project in accordance with the local codes and best practices.
  • Preparing schematic/concept design ACAD 2D drawings to assist the design team
  • Represent Meinhardt in any TCM concerning engineering matters
  • Represent Meinhardt at PMU and ensure that all testing is conducted as per the Meinhardt performance specification requirements
  • Make sure that the installed façade fixing brackets are inspected and installed in accordance with the approved shop drawings
  • Review of contractor façade shop drawings and engineering calculations to determine if the documentation is as per the Meinhardt façade specification and project performance requirements
  • Coordinating engineering works with Senior Designer and Design Manager
  • Make sure that all project engineering deliverables are on time and within allocated budget hours
  • Ensuring that the drawings are done in accordance with the MS and International standards
  • Ensure that presentation materials requirement to illustrate engineering solutions are prepared on time and to the highest standards
  • Ensure that all tender addendums, revisions, Q&A and revised engineering solutions are complete on time and ready for submission as per program of works
  • Ensure that engineering reviews are done promptly and within two cycles
  • Ensure that all engineering documentation is done in accordance with document control standards


  • Degree or Masters in engineering or related discipline
  • Strong design and engineering ability and knowledge of STAAD PRO, ACAD, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in curtain wall and architectural metal works
  • Strong engineering design ability, problem-solving and design knowledge of unitised, stick, punched window curtain walling and sliding door, ACP, solid aluminium cladding, canopy, and shop front systems
