Meinhardt Singapore Engineer Wins Excellence Award

Finding innovative engineering solutions to build a 235-metre skyscraper with sloping columns, located 3 metres away from a 100 year-old national monument, using 50% less piles, while working safely over 5.8 million manhours. These were some of the challenges Er. Kam Mun Wai in Meinhardt Singapore had to overcome and was duly awarded the Excellence Award for Design & Engineering Safety by the Singapore Building and Construction Authority as part of its annual awards.
By no means an easy feat, Er. Mun Wai, who is Senior Executive Director for Civil & Structure, ST1 Team in Meinhardt Singapore, shared with the Singapore media some of the challenges of this project and how, through innovative engineering, he and his team were able to deliver this new icon in Singapore’s central business district.
