Silk Road Enterprise Development Alliance

Meinhardt had signed an MoU with the Xi’An Trade Investment & Exhibition Company, a subsidiary of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in June 2017 at the inception of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) which was a combination of two initiatives: a 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and a Silk Road Economic Belt announced in 2013 by President Xi Jinpeng. It was subsequently written into the Chinese constitution in October 2017. The BRI includes 1/3 of world trade and GDP and over 60% of the world’s population. It is an economic cooperation initiative that aims to build a trade and infrastructure network spanning Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America. With the MoU, Meinhardt has ready access to Chinese enterprises and SOE’s to undertake collaborative projects in all BRI countries.

On the 25th of April 2018, Meinhardt was invited to become a member of the Silk Road Enterprise Development Alliance (SREDA) which is aimed at facilitating services among enterprises of various sectors in regions and countries along the Belt & Road to forge an international platform for opportunity sharing, mutual benefit, and mutual development. The application was approved in November 2018. SREDA provides business opportunities by integrating local and global resources in the fields of international trade, finance, culture, tourism, transportation and logistics, energy, industrial parks, information and technology, etc. The membership offers Meinhardt the opportunity to participate in the Silk Road International Development Fund. Together with member business associations in the BRI member countries, Meinhardt can tap into the Silk Road International Development Fund for projects from the members’ home countries. Meinhardt can also participate in the exchange vehicles including a trading platform and jointly share development dividends.
